Conference Details

Conference Site

The 2019 Regional Annual Meeting will be held at the Student Center Building, located on the center of the beautiful, urban Wayne State University Campus.

Registration Information

Online registration is open until October 6th, 2019.

We welcome anyone who cannot register before October 6, 2019 to attend the conference by 1) registering online at the increased rate or 2) registering onsite October 24, 2019 only (no on-site registration available October 25). Payment by credit card only will be accepted.

Conference Rates:

  • Online registration: $150

  • Onsite/Late registration: $175

  • Student rate: $50

  • Mental Health First Aid Training (includes lunch): $25

Mental Health First Aid Training

This training gives you the skills and confidence you need to reach out and provide initial support to someone who may be developing a mental health problem. For MACHA attendees, we are providing this training, along with a 3-year certification, for only the cost of a participant manual. Lunch will be provided. For more information, please review the Mental Health First Aid Training Information Flyer.

This training will take place from 12:30pm-6:30pm on Friday, October 25, 2019. You will receive a 3-year certification upon completion. Lunch will be provided.

Poster Presentations

MACHA is putting out a call for abstracts for posters for the 2019 MACHA Regional Meeting.  Please consider submitting your work, and encouraging doctoral students to do the same, so that the work related to college health on your campus is well represented.

Abstracts must be submitted by 5:00 PM EST, Monday, September 9, 2019. Authors will be notified by September 22, 2019 of acceptance. To submit your abstract, please fill out the Poster Abstract Application and email it to: macha@nursingpracticecorporation.com.

Call for Topics/Facilitators

The MACHA Regional Conference has an exciting new layout that is focused on collaboration and smaller interest group discussions. Our breakout session topics are determined by those registered to attend. The focus of the meeting is on items of current and future interest in college health, where a sharing of concerns and solutions among knowledgeable and experienced peers in college health takes place.

Topic Idea Submission:

If you have an interest in learning and discussing a particular topic, please email your idea to macha@nursingpracticecorporation.com.

Facilitator Submission:

If you are interested in leading/facilitating a conversation about a specific topic, please complete the Facilitator Form and submit it via email by September 9, 2019 to: macha@nursingpracticecorporation.com.

Atheneum Suite Hotel

Located in the heart of Greektown, Atheneum Suite Hotel is offering conference goers a special rate of $139.00 per Deluxe Suite, plus 15% tax.  Reduced valet parking charge of $12.00 per night. 

To make a reservation, please call 800-772-2323. Inform them that you are attending the MACHA Conference at Wayne State University to get the group rate. To ensure you get a room at this rate, please reserve by July 23, 2019. There will be limited rooms available from July 23 up until September 23, 2019. After September 23, 2019 any remaining rooms will be released, and your group rate will not be available. 

Atheneum Suite Hotel is a 10-minute drive from Wayne State University. The free hotel shuttle is available to take guests to WSU, however, it is for all hotel guests, so please allow yourself extra time. See additional transportation options below.

Inn on Ferry Street

Located in the East Ferry Street Historic District of Midtown Detroit, The Inn on Ferry Street sets the standard for elegant guest quarters and dedicated service. Just steps from the state’s finest museums and Wayne State University, the Inn is a relaxing change of pace from the standard business hotel. 

Rates range from $149-199 plus tax.  Parking is included.

After September 11, 2019 any remaining rooms will be released, and your group rate will not be available.
